I have a wd45 engine trying to determine if it is small main journal or large serial number is 45-31558-g

All main bearing journals for a WC-WD-WD45 crankshaft are the same diameters. Some very early WC's had smaller rod bearing journals.

Are u sure cause the main bearing parts are listed as wc wd and early wd45 and I been told the later wd45 are different and thats the way parts, are listed

Yeah, I'm pretty damn sure. Just goes to show how "after-market" parts suppliers don't always have their act together. The model D-17 engine has larger main bearings, not a WD-45.
