I've got a 52 WD that needs a clutch adjustment.  The owners and service manuals don't say much at all about it.  The clutch grabs at the last inch of pedal travel, I'm pretty sure it should start to engage before that.  Can anyone give me a good explination on how to adjust the clutch?    Thanks.

My manual says 1/2 to 1 inch of free play, nothing else about adjusting. Sounds like you need to shorten the rod. If it is grabbing, that could be a sign of a rear oil seal leaking. Oil can cause the grabbing.

Take off the cover under the clutch house.  use a lite and look up at the throwout bearing.  The fingeres on the clutch plate levers should be about 3./32 away front the throwout bearing face.  You may have to adjust the finger height by loosening the lock nut and turning the adjusting screws on the fingers, There good room to work on a WD, not so on some other models.  If you dont like how it turns out, adust them some more.  Remember like Charlie  said 1/2-1 of pedal free play.  Good luck Tom!!
