In doing a favor for a coworker, found a local farm tire dealer and got a used tractor tire for the co-workers grand kid..going to make a sandbox out of it. I also picked up a couple tires I need for the rebuild. Lo an behold owner is a Oliver/AC collector, has a real nice D21. Find out his son-in law is interested in selling a 60 allcrop..Great! I can use it for the rebuild job I have in the area... My customer is pleased, he will have one he can do the harvest this year before I rebuild it. Then tells me he wants another machine for his farm 1.5 hours away...Cool! But wait theres more!
I put an ad last week in the regional ag paper that covers good part of Ohio and PA.
Say I am looking for an all-crop---give my harrisburg PA number. I get a phone message today and turns out a fellow has one about 5 minutes from my farm, same township, in Western PA.....So I get another order for a rebuild and find the machine for it the same day...nice to get a break once in a while.
Finished power washing the front of the house...Used the full lenght of the 24' ladder; and no mishaps..
Planted a real garden with the girls for the first time, they actually emjoyed it
Id better go to bed now and lock down the day before someting bad happens....

TOM, I joined the All Crop owners club yesterday when I scored a shedded All-Crop "90" that looks like it has hardly ever been used. I couldn't find a dint anywhere. It has a cream coloured bin auger and the rest of the paint is excellent. I didn't get the serial number but it would have to be one of the last to have a cream auger unless it was replaced. In 1962 my uncle traded his "66" for a Gleaner A.

I was almost sick yesterday as I left from my night shift, I was passed coming home by a scrapper going to the salvage lot, he had a all-crop in tatters on a trailer. It appeared he had taken it apart with a torch and just thrown the pieces in a dump box, one wheel was sticking out as was a piece of the auger. If only the owner had bothered to advertise it before discarding it.

Tom, glad you had a successful day! Did you happen to have that advertisement in Lancaster Farming? I know that is a great newspaper that reaches quite far. I have had some good luck with both buying and selling in there.

Morton,
The ad was in Farm and Dairy out of Salem Ohio. Since it covers my farm area whereI store the machines, thats where I put the ad. I have heard of the Lancaster paper, and if I can score a place to store and work on them here near Harrisburg, I would use that paper for sure.
Speaking of places, I am looking for some outbuilding space where I can park one and work on it in the Harrisburg area. Anyone got something to rent? I can't afford to pay much..
Calvin,
Wow just in the nick of time! Send me a serial #. Sickens me when they go to scrap....

Tom - some times things just work out great -- love it when that happens. Wish it would happen more often - LOL.

Aint that the truth!! Thats why I had to post..its so rare..A couple other good things this weekend...found out where my plumbing leak was...hard to do as all my plumbing is rather centralized and hard to know exactly where the water dripping from the subfloor is coming from...Was the leaky water line to the refrig--easy fix...Also took out the crew for mothers day dinner at a Japanese restaraunt..FINALLY found one that had the sauce very similar to the one we love back home...Ah yesss Good Times!!!
