I' v owned this WD for over 12 years. It must not have been used for a long time when I bought it as the clutch was grabby until used for a while then it straightened up. But,,,, under heavy load it seems to slip to the point that the tractor stops. Works good at all other times; with the loader, plowing snow, light to heavy loads but the tractor stops under very heavy load.
Before I tear into it I'd like some guidance. Do I start with the hand clutch (It "pops" over center real well) or the engine clutch?

Turn the PTO on and see if the PTO slows down too when the clutch slips.  If it does, then it's the foot clutch, if it remains at a constant speed when the tractor begins to slow down from the slipping clutch, it's your hand clutch slipping.

I ruined one 45 when we loaded on a trailer, the rear main was bad and the angle was enough to soak it. It slipped for about 14 years and dynoed 15 horse less than before.
   The other 45 , I assume I over filled hydraulic oil and the vent oiled it for me while playning with stuck loader cylinders. That engine is coming out to go in the WC anyway now. I do have a simple permanent fix for that issue.
