I have a D17 gas, how do you tell what series it is? I think it is a series 1 but not for sure? Also is all Diesel D17 series IV?

Mike, best way to tell what series is from the serial number. With the serial number you can then look up what year it was made and what series it is.  Series I numbers ran from 1001 to 31625, 1957 to 1960. No, all diesel D17s are not series IV. D17Ds were made in all series.

My D17 diesel is serial 5865 making it a 58 model year. The diesel tractors will have a "D" after the serial number. You'll find the serial stamped into the left side torque tube right where it joins with the engine.
