My Generator locked up, I took the top off and it looks all chewed up inside.
I have a place locally that rebuild Gens., but is it better to buy a working unit or have them rebuilt? I see new rebuilt ones are $250-275 which is more than I want to spend

It greatly depends on what you're looking at that's chewed up. May not be real expensive to fix yours. Take it to your local rebuilder and let him look at it. Most rebuilders like myself won't charge you for disassembly and assessment.....
