Was there a heavy duty front axle and a normal duty front axle on the 720's. I have (2) 720's and one has bigger steering arms on top of the spindles?

Yes, from what I've heard on here a while back, there was an upgraded front axle which was heavier. Don't know when in production they were introduced though...

think the spindle diameter is still the same size with the bigger steering arm ontop have to mesure the 720 parts tractor and the 616 had both side by side a week a go swapping hyd valves and starerter soliniod and the pto to the 720 without the carrier bearing front axles looked the same to me but i found little differances all over the two tractors that had been changed from the 616 to the 720

I don't have my parts book, but IIRR that is correct. Just a heavier steering arm and thread on the end of spindle. There was a service bulletin to add a plate for the axle pivot bolt. HTH Tracy

Thanks fellas,
I have done the upgrade to the heavier front axle. Without pulling the engine, I had two buddies to help. It pretty much needs more than one man.
