Could anyone tell me if there was a mounted plow for the "C". My dad tells me they used a pull type 2 bottom. I have seen "B"s  with a mounted single 16, did they use that on the C as well? Thanks,JM

Yes, there was a mounted plow for a C.  Same plow as a B, but with a wider mounting bracket underneath for the wider final drive stance and the depth mechanism was different and used some linkage off of the cultivator bracket mounts.  Someone will post a picture for you I hope.  I don't think I have one.

The mounted B-C plow was not as sophisticatred as the new draft control mounted plows but they worked fine for me.  We really sold a lot of them.
Hope there is a picture someone can show you so you can see how they mount.
Fun to plow with.
Good Luck!

Would a C even pull a pull type 2 bottom?  I know my CA pulls its pin hitch 2 bottom ok but it has the weight transfer from the plow that the pull type wouldn't have.

we pulled 2 -14 with Dad's B many times, It could have been 2 -12's, it was 35 years ago. Dad had fluid, wts. and chains for winter. We actually pulled a backhoe trailer of logs out of the woods that the 190 would not pull(not enough traction or it was too heavy and sank and dug a hole, I forget now).  Dad parked that load in the barn and the neighbor put his 220 or 210(he had both) on it so dad could take them to the saw mill. When he set it down, it bent the 220's drawbar.

My dad tells me he once pulled 3-14s, hard to believe but he did it. He and grandpa were plowing with the 45 and a DC case, the case broke the final drive chain so they took it to the barn. The old C was sitting there so dad decided to see if she would pull the plow still sitting in the field. I think he said it even pulled it in 2nd until he would hit a tough spot then he would shift into 1st. He said the gears where growling and tractor shaking under that load, grandpa would lap him about every round with the 45. Every time he would come up behind him on the 45 dad would turn around and see grandpa smiling ear to ear, he was very proud of those Allis's.

Yes they did. I have a couple extra plow drawbars/brackets for the C. No depth adjustment linkage though.

We used a Pull type 2-14s all the time with a C using 2nd gear in Bean or Corn ground, in southern Ia.  Did make her get up and talk at times however.  lol

WIARD Plow Co. of Batavia, NY made a mounted two bottom plow that was patterned from the AC single bottom mounted plow.  Mine is a 2-12, and it works well with my C in second gear in most soils.  Old sod might be interesting though...
