My new to me WD carb was leaking at the load jet so I removed the carb,
when I took it apart it has no venturi. Tractor ,runs OK, but I think it would need the venturi for best performance |

I'd definitely put one back in there, you can order an oversized one. That won't reallyhelp unless you do some other work to the carb but it's a good start.

do you know what the standard size jet that came in the 464?
I see on McDonalds carb site you can only only order about 3 sizes.

Part number 46-A 248 is the one inch venturi which will fit a TSX464 and is larger than the original one that came in a TSX464.

Tractor did run, pretty much as normal. it did stumble at higher RPM's though
I put in the venturi from my 17 and it does run better at all RPM's |

You might even consider sending the whole carb to McDonald's carb, he will ask you what cubic inches and what rpms your running and build a carb to your tractor. He flow tests them and the whole 9 yards, I've been very impressed with the carb he built me. I would highly recommend him.

My 1" venturi came in as well as a new load jet.
The new load load has 1 hole on the side for fuel intake. The old one has a hole through both sides. I assume someone drilled this out for greater fuel passage? I left the old one there and with the new venturi, the engine runs much cleaner.

I actually pulled it in 3500 class and it did OK until it bogged down at the end. I was also getting a lot of black smoke from too much fuel. Came home and decided to check the carb and found no venturi. I was surprised also
