I run 20 in the fronts and 12 in the rears. You can go down to 12 in the fronts and 6 in the rears. Don't put over 25 in the them. 25 is the max seating pressure. Lower pressure will give you better traction. I run higher because I have a loader and it gets hard to steer if you let the pressure down to far. If the tires are fluid loaded make sure the valve stem is at the top when checking.and use a fluid gage. Calcium cloride will quickly ruin a standard gauge.

The WD tranys were noisy! Straight cut gears I am told. The later-bent shifter-transmissions were helically cut and much quieter!

There are shop and op manuals from AC at www.grandpastractor.com but not for WD.
You need the operator's manual for standard adjustments like tire pressures, ignition settings, and valve settings (needed regularly). The shop manual will cover many other repair details, but not those. The I&T shop manual is very abbreviated, and not a great value. I searched with google for a WD manual and there might be one or two that can be downloaded after signing up for a particular web site, otherwise many vendors offer reprints for a price. You've spent significant cash for the tractor you need to break down and spend a bit more for the manual so you can use it properly and safely. Gerald J. Edited by Gerald J. - 19 Jul 2015 at 9:07am |
