Folks,
I have started the restoration of two milk cans with implement seats bolted to the top. These needed to be cleaned up and some paint applied. Both have been through the electrolysis tank, wire brushed, primed, and are in finish paint. One full size one and a smaller one for kids. They will allow folks at the tractor shows to come by and set a spell, and talk about tractors. (just hope they don't look too good and walk off:)) I will get some pictures posted soon. I have seen these done (AC) before in various ways. Mine will kind of match my WD paint schemes. PO #1 and cream. Just received a care package from Sandy Lake this afternoon and hope they sent some AC decals to dress them up also. These milk cans have been on the list of things to do for a while. They normally reside in the sugarhouse and folks use them when we have our maple weekend open house in the spring. I have lots of tractor pictures in there too, so these should fit right in. I may get ambitious and do one in a Ford, John Deere, and Case theme also. Regards, Chris Edited by Sugarmaker - 16 Jun 2015 at 8:02pm |

OK ok! maybe not the green thing!:)
Here are some pics. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Decals available thanks to Sandy Lake! ![]() Paint on the seats is the same (cream) but the darn lights made the small one look gray. ![]() Decal placement today, and these should be good to go. I think the AC diamond front and center then scatter the rest around the cans? I may save the lower orange Allis decal for the plow project. I just hauled a rusty old milk can home from the old home place. I have had this cast iron seat hanging on the wall for a longggggggggggggg time.I might have to do some engineering cause the lid on mine is dished with a cross handle in the dish.

Thanks guys,
Here is the finished product. The big can was a little tall so I chopped 3 inches off the top of the neck since this picture. Basically now have a CA version and a Model B version for the kids! ![]() That wraps that little AC project up. Back to the plows. Regards, Chris Edited by Sugarmaker - 17 Jun 2015 at 8:14pm |

Wow! Those look great. Are ya takin orders yet? One of those "CA" cans sure would look nice by my CA. Not that I could afford one after I get done with this restoration. Those cans oughta be worth a pretty penny. Great looking work.

My John Deere neighbor has a milk can for the base to his mailbox. Maybe a middle of the night paint job?

Chris,
Haven't posted any pics yet but I was planning to upload some when I get done. I'll be happy if it turns out half as nice as your milk cans. Hervey |

These were soldered. In the one picture you can see the bare solder all over the outside of the can. This was after I ran it through the electrolysis tank. So I don't think it would make a good wood burner for you. Regards, Chris |
