At the Woodstock pull yesterday and at the drivers meeting it was announced no TA/PD/overunders allowed.
One of the Farmall spoke up and asked why, the guy (major JD guy) said if I can't shift gears, then you can't!

Gotta love it

around here it is usually stated you get flagged when forward momentum stops.  meaning ta, hi-lo, etc is fine if you want to risk a faulty shift, but the jd powershift is a bad choice as there is usually a slight pause during shift under extreme load.  this always seemed very sensible to me- leave it up to the driver.  but if forward motion stops.......

The PD (On the D14/15/17x/19) typically has no pause when shifting. Now a 180 and up, yes there is a pause that usually stops momentum.
I've seen a few T/A that are smooth, while others have a pause.

Those are always my favorite! Stock pulls. None of that souped-up stuff. You really see which tractors pull the best!
