Haven't seen any orange here yet, just done a half a circle tour of the Big Island today. I hope that whoever has the WC on this island will see this and reply. I have seen some Cat construction equip and some old Cat crawlers a 2085 Ferguson on Maui that is more rusted than any fence row tractor I have ever seen. Seen some big JD tractors and Cat crawlers ripping the cane fields. We also toured the Bowfin sub and the USS Missouri, didnt see any Allis gauges or electrical equip. Here are some pics of the equip that I have seen so far.
At the sugar cane museum in Maui. |

I tried to upload some pics, it says I have used more than 10 MB, and to use file manager to delete. Is the file manager on the forum or on my computer. Cant ask my wife as she is in the condo and I am by the pool to get a WiFi signal.

Brian - I saw the CAT dealer on Maui as well. I hope you drive the Road to Hanna while you are there on Maui and also go to the top of Mt. Haleakela. Snorkelling at Black Rock is also great. Mike

Mike; We drove part of the road to Hana, ran out of time that day. My wife and the other couple we are with went to the summit of that mountain, I was in the room sick. They said it was awesome, just over 10,000 ft. Some pics of the sub and the mighty MO.
Pics from the sub, with 2 V16 engines. Pics of USS Missouri, with a 25" lathe and a fairly large milling machine. |

I can't wait to go back some day to Oahu & the Big Island. I think the Missouri was closed still last summer for tours. GREAT PHOTOS, thanks for sharing! Mike

Those subs actually have 4 engines, not 2. If you look at the control handles in your one photo, they show 4 generators. I toured the twin to that sub in Alabama as well as the battleship Alabama. The Alabama is a smaller predecessor to the Missouri style but still very impressive. Your photos turned out a lot better then mine.

Spud; Thats what I thought, but the pamphlet they gave us said 2 engines and thats all we seen. We have toured about 75% of big island, 250 miles on Harleys yesterday and never seen any orange. There might have been a backhoe or 2 that were in the weeds, but it is hard to get the other 3 people that have no interest in old tractors to stop and look every few miles. So, if any one has the info on who has the WC over here, then pass it along. We will be coming back in 2 or 3 years.
