I have an 8050 fwa and the steering cylinder needs repacked. i have repacked other cylinders with good results but i cant seem to get this one apart. most others unscrew but this one has a snap ring. i removed it but cant see what is holding it from coming apart. can someone shed some light on my situation? thanks to all in advance for any help....JB

You have removed an external snap ring with eyes-correct. Now gently tap the gland into the barrel until you see an internal ring in the barrel. Use a knife blade or small screw driver to peel it out ,then you can remove the rod and piston assembly.

I think if you have removed the snap ring it should be ready to come apart. I usually use the wand with compressed air held against the fitting that extends the cylinder. Be careful that it wiil come apart in a safe area preferably something a little soft to hit. Service manual is at the farm so not 100% sure on the just one snap ring though?
