I had some trouble with my truck this weekend  its an 02 GMC duramax 2500. When I shut it off it wouldnt start '' like the batteries where low or starter was bad''  well they are new batteries and i put a new starter in it saturday mornin. The starter chatters when you try to start it like there is not enough juice   but if you jump acrossed the starter with a screw driver and turn the key at the same time it will fire right up.  Has anyone else had this go on before?

Bad connection on either a ground or the starter solenoid from what it sounds like. Dads 04 had the same thing after he put a new starter on it and it turned out the positive was a little bit loose on the starter, made it sound like weak batterys starting it, and thats when it did start.
