I'm taking my first steps to identify what I have so I can get this tractor going.
B44927 is the Tractor number by the gear shift.
AM2918-12 is the engine block casting number, next to it is a J 17 Y.
10697 A Zenith Carb. with 1284 A identification on the brass disk.
AM2787-13 casting identification on the rear axel.
I did not see an engine serial number on the left rear of the engine block.
I really appreciate any help you may have.

Hi Burgie, That casting number also matches the 1940 year.
The carburetor is one used on later model B's 125 ci Kerosene.
Your engine should be a 116 ci BE engine.
Look on the back of the block below the head for an engine serial number.

Thanks Guys,
I'll see if I can find the engine serial number after work this evening.
From what little I know so far, I'm still confused...Kerosene carb, and I'm sure she has a gas manifold.  The farmers of the day have always been very resouceful, so I'm going to have to figure out what may have been modified as I go.

Alot of the carburetors were mismatched over the years.
If it worked they ran it.
I has a kerosene carburetor on a C 125 gas engine and it ran fine.
If the engine runs well I wouldn't worry about that at all.
The carbuertor for the 1940 gas 116 ci engine was the Zenith 9636  &  8561
The 116 gas in other years also used the 9804,9705 & 864 Zeniths.

Dawn, I am parting out a 1940 B with the straight adjustable front axel right now for LeSuer Co. swap meet. Lots of good parts. If you need anything call 612-840-3749.

That brings me to where I am now...
The tractor ran good about 5 years ago, then it set for years.  The carb was recently rebuilt using the zenith 10697 serial number and now the tractor will start, but will not keep running.  It sounds like the carb may have been modified to run on gas before it was rebuilt.  If this is the case, I'll need to find out what needs to be done to make it work again or replace the carb with one that you listed.

The carb should be fine. The K manifold was simply designed to heat the kero for better combustion, tractor/carb combo was designed to start on gas until manifold heated up, then switch to kero.
