Do you suppose that there is any Orange in Hawaii. Flying in to Honalulu for 4 days, the to Maui for 3 days, then to the big island for the second week. Anyone been there, have any tips on the must see things.

We went there in '06, only for a week.
I did a climb (or walk) up Diamond back mountain, a good chug.
Went to see Pearl Harbor memorials, seen a few other tourist attractions, along with Dole Pineapple farm, submarine ride, dinner cruise, Polynesian museum, other.
Ran out of time.

I've looked a couple of times when we were there and didn't find anything. I think there used to be a fellow with a WC that posted here from the big island.....

Cindy and I were on Maui for a week last summer. I looked all over too and didn't see any AC's, even driving thru the farmland and the upcountry. When on Maui you have to go the Paia Fish Market and have one of their fish burgers (Mahi) for lunch...one of the best things I've ever eaten.
PM me or better yet call me some evening this week (636-391-3807) if you want more info on Maui. Too much to write in a post. Mike http://www.paiafishmarket.com/ Edited by Skyhighballoon(MO) - 28 Mar 2010 at 10:55pm |

I've been to Kauai and the Big Island and have yet to see any AC's although I'm sure there are a few hiding out and probably some construction equipment. Cat seems to have most of the construction business and a lot of the big ag stuff was Cat crawlers.

I remember a few years back hearing about a fellow that restored an unstyled WC over there. Supposed to be the only one over there. Dave.

David, Wasn't that Roger Welsh? (LOL) The trips to the salvage yard in Nebraska for parts would have been pricey. Bob@allisdowneast

There used to be a Wednesday Flea market at the Pro Bowl stadium parking lot every week that was the place to buy all your souvenirs . Make sure and see the lava beds that you can walk out on until it gets too hot for your feet, great place to visit at dusk. The Smithsonian has a living history coffee farm museum on the Big island. Was really fun renting a car and just driving around and enjoying the sights and sounds of the countryside. |
