Question:
Did all the Briggs Vanguard engines & Kohler Command twins have the flywheel drilled and tapped to accomadate a driveshaft for a Garden Tractor. Just kinda curious. I'm lookin' around for a Kohler Command or Briggs Vanguard engine for my hotrod 716H. I missed the one that I was supposed to go see. Information was a couple weeks old I found out later... Sheesh!

Thanks Hud for the info! I'm lookin' at a Briggs Vanguard on e-bay. It has a re-coil on it, and also electric start. I'm wonderin' if I remove the re-coil, if that's going to reveal a drilled flywheel in order to hook up ma' driveshaft for my 716H. I can fab a new adapter if the bolt holes are different.  I tried to get the wife to pull the finish mower around and mow the property, but she says that slows her down to much. I'm probably better off with her not doing it. There probably wouldn't be any lawn left after she gets done tearin' it up!! LOL!  Crewchief- I like the rat-rod look! I was thinking about stretchin' the frame on the 716, but I don't want to git' to carried away with it. I have other projects that need to get done also which I don't have a lot of time for...

Hud,
I see one of those adapters on e-bay. It was off a 16HP Briggs in a Cub Cadet. I would imagine its the same? Not sure.
