Got the 720 I was after and will start the cleanup and installing a new steering gearbox and general going over. Paint is all original and no dents. Muffler changes but I hate to totally restore when it is so nice the way it is. Been setting in garage for 15 years because of steering box. Since I have to pull the motor to get to things, we will just give it a good going over. What does everyone think on restoration. Total paint/decals or mechanincally sound and original?

Nice machine! That steering box is way down in there, and there's one bolt that's a bear to get to, but with a little patience, it'll come out. I bought my 620 this time last year. I've been restoring it little by little. Just one of my many projects! Picked up a loader for it this year from one of our Orange family members here on the forum. I should have it ready to roll hopefully by this coming summer...

Boy, still looks quite decent as is. I'd like to find a good steering box for mine also, but for now I just got a spinner on the wheel which helps a lot. If it still charges properly, you are way ahead of the game!

Probably have a lot of questions as I go forward with this project as this is my first on anything but tractors and trucks. Got motor pulled after church this morning and the steering box is still going to be a bear to get out. They sure have things jammed in there.
Wife says we have to do something else today besides work on stuff. Our 41st Wedding Anniversary. Thanks for the comments...

Thanks to all that replied. Got the new gearbox installed today and power washed to get all the grease and grime off. Think I will just keep the original paint and go through everything.

Need help with understanding the electric clutch for the PTO. The wires going to the clutch are not connected to anything. How does this hook up and is there anyway to repair something like this? Don't really need the PTO but would like to have everything working. Any help would be appreciated. |
