Dad has one that resembles the first one but it has a steel ball hanging off the back. It really puts a load on the 45 in the hard clay.

That steel ball hanging off the back is the mole, that is missing on alot of them. The one in the picture is a number 4, a number three looks very similar but doesnt have the adjusting screw, the one in the picture doesn't have the coulter which is also quite hard to find.

What type of set up is the "pin hitch" as required for the 3rd subsoiler? Which model of AC tractors typically had these? Can they be rigged up to work with a Snap Coupler hitch?

The third picture pin hitch was for the WD tractor. Take off the draw bar bail and use the pin hitch draw bar itself to connect.

Great pictures John! For some reason, it can be hard to describe how these early WD implements mount. These pictures are easily worth 2000 words to someone who has never seen them hitched to a tractor.
