Looks like shes ready for the field. Wonder what was bolted to the frame rail in front of the brakes and right behind the steer tires?

Looks like it had a WD9 loader on it.  You can see in my picture where the brackets bolt to.

Looks like a 201 block to me. It has a snap couple bell which would have been added if it is an early WD.

My vote is WD also. I  don't think the 45's had the hole in the grill for the shutter control.

Count the number of bolts holding the front axle to the front casting.  It is a 3 bolt wide front and looks like a straight shifter. With the lower serial number and the push rod cover bolted to the right side of the engine, it leaves little doubt, this is a WD not a WD45.

thanks for the input. how do i tell what it has for a motor i know i can check serial # but was wondering if anyone would like to take a stan at it. i would like to find a bushhog i can hook to the drawbar cus the 3 point hitch is not hookedup. the lift cylinders are unhooked and they put a coupler on it that looks like it was for remote levers.

Looks like it has the battery type coil conversion done to a magneto. A 201 block is easy to tell compared to a 226 block. The 201 has a metal plate bolted to the side of the block and the oil filter housing is bolted to the plate. This plate covers the valve train area of the block. A 226 does not have this plate and is solid cast iron.
The only way to really know is measure the stroke since 226 innards will fit in the 201 block. Putting it on a PTO dyno might give an indication. If it's producing in the 45 hp area, good chance it has 226 innards.
