Our local club had a pull last Saturday and I took the CA and D12

Pulled the CA in 2500A, 3000B, 3500B and the D12 in 3500A and 4000B

4 1st places and 1 second. I was happy :)
Lots of traction and still need more weight up front. I still had to throttle back to above idle at the end to walk the front as they came up. People were amazed at how much grunt the little tractors have.

  What are your drawbar hights on the CA and the 12  Charlie ?   I  found that shortening the hook point closer to the 16" minimum from the centerline of the rear axle helped keep the front end down and improved distance.  Rareing up the front is not a comfortable feeling.
Our local easttx drawbar hook point rules are 20'' max height, 16" minimum from the centerline of the rear axle.  I Guess You can go out the back as far as you want??
    I bend the Farm Stock hitch rule by not having a OEM hitch to take advantage of the max height, min length hook point rules. For a long time I ran a C hoop drawbar with the flat bar pin hitch drawbar bolted on top on my CA. As long as it was painted Orange nobody noticed it wasn't CA.
   My lightest class with my Bareback CA is 3500  Wheel weights, water in the rears and engine side weights.

The CA I have a Ford drawbar from tractor Supply that I bolt to my Pin hitch point and then raise it with two plates and bolts that I can adjust up or down as needed on my cross support. This drawbar is just long enough to clear the cross support. Yes it is not the factory setup but I haven't been protested yet. It's right at 20" high and close to 20" from the axle (18" is our rule).
I could mount a weight bracket to the front cultivator points but I don't know how strong they are.
I weigh 2520 with me on it so I barely squeeze into the 2500 class. This is stock as is, no stripping. Well I did take off my hydraulic rams.
Above that I have to pull "B" class since I am using suitcase weights.

The D12 is stock drawbar slid in to the inner hole. I think it is around 19" high as is.
I can barely make the 3000 class with it, no weights.

I use all of my tractors so I am hesitant to strip/gut them for pulling. I guess I need to do as one member told me Saturday, get a WC/WD and gut it and only use it for pulling. They are the most fun.

Pulled the CA last night to 2 seconds and a 4th (2500,3000,3500)
Still trying to figure how a H got down to 3000 lbs, but hey I beat two Farmall C's and a Ollie 66 :)

The Ollie 66 paid me back in spades in 3500 when he could add weight. Beat me by 30'.

People don't believe that the tractor is stock.

Congratulations, Charlie.  I've never pulled my CA but I know it can cut down some pretty tall grass with a 6' Woods belly mower.  It's fun to hear that governor open up for awhile.Tongue

Much over 3000lb around here puts you against stong WCs and WDs on a packed like concrete clay track and the sled weighs 33,000+

We have small sleds typically except at some pulls. I can't budge them with the small stuff. Well even the D17 has a hard time with them

The 14th we have a pull on a Horse track (Hard, Crushed gravel). That is pretty neat to pull on but it is hard on the tires.

I have not tried to pull my 2 CA's but I pull 2-14 plows like nothing with the wide front end that I just rebuilt.

Charlie, what gear do you pull in with the CA? I have pulled with my CA in second gear but have to watch speed, it goes almost too fast in antique pulling. What tire pressure do you run in the rears? Mine are fairly new 11.2 X 24.

If I pull stock Antique I have to use 1st gear as that is the rule of the class. If I pull Class B it doesn't matter as long as I stay under 3 mph.
I have used 2nd up to 3000 class, then 1st from there on. The stock motor does not hurt for power in first!
I am at around 10 PSI.
I think I am giving up on the 2500 class. Unless I strip the tractor more to get rid of weight. Right now with me I weigh in at 2500 or close to it. The issue is the front is too light and just comes up too much. Thinking about adding fluid to the rears minus 200 lbs and then add weight up front to make 3000.

CA Hitch
I have to use the stock setup but I made some slight adjustments.

TSC drawbar that is much shorter than the Stock unit.
Bolts to raise it up to 20"
Angle iron mounted so I can use suitcase weights on the back.

I wish I hadn't been so hammered at work the last few weeks. I had wanted to bring my Non-Turbo CA down to the pull at Woodstock for the fast class on the 14th.
