Does anyone have some pictures of a farm crane for the back of a WD or WD45?
Looks like a handy attachment. I may just make my own, if I could find some measurements. OR, Does anyone have one for sale?

was just a post about the crane a couple weeks ago. A search for "lift crane" came up with this. http://www.allischalmers.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=88695&KW=lift+crane&PID=701670&title=lift-crane#701670

Thanks for the link. Looks like I can fabricate one pretty easily. The pictures are just what I needed.

Well, going off the pictures and drawings from the link above, I think I came pretty close!
Hit it with some rattle can primer... I restored a garden tractor a few years ago, had some paint left... Also had some decals that were made by mistake, the letters are silver instead of white. Hey, at least it matches the rims. Used it to lift the plow out of the back of a pickup, used it to lift some logs out in the woods, loaded a motor and a tranny with it, and that was all in the first day! I don't know if the hydraulics are up to par on the tractor, it didn't like lifting the V8 engine. Note how the dog and the guy driving the Johhny Popper are staring! So, then we tossed the plow on and went and turned some dirt in the food plot. Overall, a good day indeed.

Nice job! Do you have to remove the lift latches from the arms to mount it?

Yes, you have to remove the snap coupler latches. The crane actually pins on to the arms with 5/8" clevis pins.
It is made of 4" channel iron. 2 pieces, 6' long. The two cross pieces are 3/8" by 3 1/2" flat stock. The bolts are 1" diameter by about 6" long, I put 4" long pieces of pipe over them for spacers. |

A couple of people have asked about how I built my farm crane so I thought I would drag this post back up to the top. The link is in the first response above.
