Previous threads I was asking about PS for a WD.
Found a complete setup and got it on and the pump was junk.
Got a reman. pump and it is working perfectly.The pump looked like something off an old Dodge or GM. Doesn't matter really. It's a clean fit and not clobbered up.
 
Anyway I got a different throttle rod with the setup and it is bent to go around the torque generator like it should be.
The problem is that I can't get it to stay at full throttle. If I crank it up all the way the govenor spring pulls it back to about half throttle or less. I have tried to adjust it every possible way there is and tried different springs on the throttle pivot by the oil filter.
 
It's a PITA the way it is now. I'm out of ideas.
Any suggestions?

Is the spring by the quadrant appling enough pressure and are you friction blocks in good shape. That has been my biggest problem when I have the problem you describe. usually I either have a broken spring or a worn friction block. Could your new linkage be too long and taking preesure off the friction block to the quadrant. Just my experiances hope it helps

Isn't there a different spring for a WD/WD45 when it has the power steering on it.  I had a WD45 once that had factory power steering and the throttle wasn't right when I got it because it didn't have the right spring.  I got one from Norm I think and it ran and adjusted perfect after that.  Wasn't your setup a Charlynn one?  I'm not sure if it's different on that one.

The quadrant springs and the blocks are in decent shape. Same as before I changed things. I can take the govenor rod loose and it's fine.
I put a heavier spring on the pivot and it's better but then it won't stay in the idle position.
 
I am totally overlooking something here. I even turned to the service manual and it should be ok but it's not.
 
It is a charlynn setup other than the pump.

I did use the spring that came on the different throttle rod. I didn't think to check the tension against the mine but I know it wasn't broken and it took about all I had to get it compressed to get the pin back in.
I may take it loose and washer it up and see if that helps.
