Post is for reference only. I see to many questions on "how fast is it" or what will the difference in tire size be. Now you can do the math for yourself and KNOW. I figured out the gear ratios of the tractors and did a little conversion to find the final gear ratios with a common swap. These may not be 100% accurate per tooth count on various gears but are very, very close.
WD45 gas 43 tooth ring gear, 13 tooth pinion gear = 3.30 ratio 1st gear = 84:1 2nd gear = 52.5:1 3rd gear = 40:1 4th gear = 18:1 WD45 with diesel ring and pinion or early D-17 ring and pinion. 35 tooth ring, 9 tooth pinion =3.88 gear ratio 1st gear = 98.76:1 2nd gear = 61.72:1 3rd gear = 46:1 4th gear = 21.16:1 WC 1st gear = 67:1 2nd gear = 46:1 3rd gear = 35:1 4th gear = 18.5:1 I'll have to find the RC ring and pinion ratios again and the WC ring and pinion ratios to do the calculations and figure out what the WC with RC ring and pinion swap would be. So now you can figure your tire RPM or your rolling radius and figure the actual speed, or what the differences will be making a change or when debating what gear to run. |
