 Topic: Aermotor 40' tower assembly

I hope I am in the "right" forum. I recently took down and dismantled an Aermotor, 3-leg, 40' tower and am sure I will not remember where all the pieces go back together when I get ready to assemble it. Does anyone know where I can get assembly instructions for this tower? Thanks.

there is a guy eastern kansas that travels the state rebuilding windmills. I watched a show on PBS KTWU Topeka called Sunflower Journeys, they had a segment about him. sadly i cant rememer his name. 
if you search the net there are several windmill repair businesses in KS, NE, OK they may be willing to help with directions.

Just so you know... Aermotor Windmill is still in business. It's had a tumultuous history since it's turn-of-the-century boom... it saw a decline during rural electrificiation, but many western areas without the advantage of commercial electricity stuck with wind-power for remote water pumping sites.
They've got a nice website at http://www.aermotorwindmill.com/, and I'd be really suprised if you couldn't get a complete new set of documents that'd match your machine... I think the most recent systems are even posted for download.
Cool to note that while the basic look-and-feel of the classing farm windmill is still there, they've kept up with manufacturing technology and made even more improvements to their windmills.
Funny to note that there's several outfits identifying themselves as the authoritative 'experts' wandering the country, buying, and in some cases just taking old windmills, cleaning them up, and re-selling them as rare antiques for exorbitant prices, when you can buy a complete new one for a WHOLE lot less...

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.

I've had mine up and down 3 different times and you can't put it together wrong because the pieces won't fit. The top angles are different than the bottoms and the braces are sized to only go in one spot.

I'm sure you are right, but do the braces go on the outside or inside? I don't want to waste a lot of time doing it the wrong way and then having to re-do it. Maybe it will all fall in place when I get started but I would like to have the assembly instructions to make it as easy as possible. Thanks for your time and input. Bob
