Can someone explain to me how king of the hill pulls work? I see them talked about (more on the YT pulling page) and don't understand the class. Never seen one before.

I know Tunica has a king of the hill at their pull. They have all JD's on one sled/track, and all other brands on the other sled/track. The 2 winners then pull off against one another using both tracks/sleds (if I remember right) to determing the KOH. Seems like an Ollie or M usually come out on the top

We just had one here basicly its a winner take all pay out class ours was 50 to enter with a 50 % pay back the more you get in the class the bigger the pay back hope that helps

So what would the rules of the class be? I'm envisioning this something like the 8200 lb open class than Twin States runs. Any tractor, 4wd, 2wd truck, must weigh 8200 or less and it's good to go. Or is it a single weight, say 4,000 but no speed limit? Do 3,000 lb tractors pull against 4 or 5,000 lb? I get to one antique pull a year and they don't have a KOH class.

Sigourney, Iowa runs a 5500 lb class in heats of 20 or 25 tractors. Top two finishers of each heat go to a "Finals" to determine the winner. Most times 75 to 100 total entries, so 8 to 10 in the finals.

Well, if you beat 80 other tractors, you'd think you were pretty big stuff, wouldn't you ?? Just winning your "heat" is a pretty big deal, let alone beat all the other "heat" winners in a final pull-off..

Makes sense now. It would be a big deal to win out in something like that. It'd be more fun to get the extra hooks in doing it.
