    Posted: 24 Feb 2010 at 8:17am
I have been thinking about having an auction at this years Orange Power of the Past Show  at Paris, Il. July 16-17, 2010.
I have bought out several old AC dealerships in recent years and have too much stuff here. Most of it is NOS, mostly combine, plow, planter, picker, mower and a few tractor parts plus misc. and I have been thinking about selling some of it.
I thought about having the auction Sat. evening, say 5 PM after the tractor pull.
It would be open to anyone wanting to consign parts, tractors, implements or anything AC.
Let me know what you think.

That sounds like a fine idea, Dale. Of course, us boys from far away would have to buy only small stuff!!

Love the idea.  I can't think of a more fun time than buying NOS AC stuff. Don't let my hood slip in that pile of stuff to be sold! I might just bring some NOS stuff to sell as well. Michael

Dale, sounds good...Maybe you could put on your site a place to list items...so there is not a big bunch of all one thing...I think it would be a hoot to see all that orange stuff all in one place....Are you going to include tractors and other large items in the mix??

I'll be bringing good stuff to sell so I have money to buy someone else's precious stuff!!

Mark, I would say anything anyone wants to sell would be OK. If people would send me a list of items they want to sell I will make up a sale bill and post it on my website. I already have a list of mine that will take an hour to sell and finding more all the time.
We already have the band to play Fri. night this year but if the auction goes off good this year I am thinking to have the auction on Fri, evening next year.

Wheatbreeder, Read the first line of my first post on top as to what OPOP is.

Thanks Dale....I am sure that a sale bill would lead to much more participation in OPOP..

I know the Greensburg auction is very popular and seems to grow bigger every year.

Will there be an auctioner and commissions to pay?

 Mark and all,
I have an auctioneer that has agreed to do the auction. He said the standard rates is as follows:
  $1.00- $100.00 = 20% commission
  $101.00 - $500.00 = 15%
  $501.00 - UP        = 7%
  $25.00 no sale fee

Hey Dale, some time in a future show for a band maybe look into the Battlecreek band.  They played at the Half Century of Progress this past year and were great.  I think they are from over your way also!
