I ordered my cylinder packing from my local AGCO dealer on Monday for my WD9 loader bucket cylinders. They arrive on Friday two sets of 4 to repair my leaking cylinders, it took me about an hour on the first one and I will finish the other today. The part number was 72000650 and they cost $2.63 ea. , I want to thank the forum members who help me with the information to deal with my tractor problems. As I was bleeded the cylinder my neighbor dad walked over and said did my son tell you his grandpa was an Allis-Chalmers dealer, I said yes and he reminisced about his days at the dealership. I invited his dad to stop by again to talk about the tractors.

Don,
It helped pre-seat the 3 seals so the 4th ones lip was inside the cylinder cap and the top seated everything great. I have 3/16" of and inch between the cylinder cap to compress overtime if leaks occur, so that should be a lifetime for me! I have set it so you get only a film leakage through the packing a shown in the manual for proper lubrication of the packing. Danny |

Any chance you coulod take some pictures of the second one and put them up here? I need to redo mine this summer and following in someone elses footprints is always nice. Can't believe that AGCO only wants $3 for a seal kit for a loader that's 40 years old.

It said in the manual that if you don't bleed the cylinder that trapped air would cause the cylinder to bend and fail. There is a small screw on each side near the top were you bleed the air, I think you get more problems with the disconnection and reconnection of the cylinders. I bleed mine for safety if i'm using it for work that day. Danny Edited by dannyraddatz - 14 Feb 2010 at 7:57am |

Aaron, I will take pictures today as I rebuild the second cylinder, you can always send me an email before the project and I will give you my cell #. The seals are $2.63 ea. so to re due both sides was $21.04 + tax, I thought that was a great deal too! I found some in McMaster Carr but it would have cost me $29.00 + Tax for 10 pack of V Rings. The local AGCO dealer was great over the phone when ordering the parts and it was nice to everything go together with out a hitch! Danny Edited by dannyraddatz - 14 Feb 2010 at 8:08am |

That's great Danny! Did the bleed screw come open?
I have # four WD45 up and running now Got the wheels moved in and the engine running like a top, I still don't know if it will make the list of keepers in the barn or if it will be parted out. I'll make that call today. If it becomes a part tractor I have a friend that parts them out.
