My B has 8 trashed lifters that are so bad they can not be refaced I am looking for some useable ones and found some for a D-15 gas, will they fit in my 1938 B. Also are all cam beaings the same for all BE and CE engines the parts guy said the ones they can get are for a certain serial # up B64501 is their a difference or will they fit my 1938 engine. Also is their a good place to get new O-rings for the sleeves or are they something that can be bought at a hardware store. Thanks in advance for any help or opinions, Denis |

The parts book I have shows the cam bearings to be the same for all Bs, IBs, Cs & CAs. Two sizes. Standard and .0025 undersize.

At the risk of sounding like a fool the lifters are suposed to be like those foundin most other engines right, with a convex face as opposed to the concave face all of mine have.
Todd what shape is the trans in I think mine needs a shift fork, it locks up between 1st and Reverse sometimes when you shift between them, and I will probably need some other parts for the trans and rear too.

LOL! Your guess is good as mine on the lifters. Trans as far as I know is fine. Rear all there and no known noises.

If your lifters are cuped or dished out and not flat faced the cam is probably shot also. Inspect the cam lobes for ware. If the cam is OK be sure to check the oil pump drive pin in the end of the cam. Replace the pin with the cam out. Sometimes a new pin the same diameter fits too loose. Go with a bit larger pin and widen and square up the slot in the oil pump with a flat file for the larger pin. That slot gets notches worn in it too.
I have torn down several B/C engines and wonder how they even ran at all before they quit running for good. If You are finding serious ware to the cam and lifters the rocker arm shaft is more than not also shot. New ones are big bucks. New rocker arm bushings are not available.
