Larry, I don't know if you know him, but the guy in the third picture with his back to the camera is my dad, Dale Arnold, & the guy standing in front of him with the hat is my brother Dan. We are all from Jeromesville, OH. How close do you live to Tom Wolfe? We are good friends with him.

I live about 1 mile from him. I actually have his mom and dads old farm..whats left of it(25ac) on Elyria Rd. Know him and Joe well. Just talked to him at the fair this evening also. I have met Dan, and seen his D-19 NF pull in Wooster at one of the open pulls a few years ago

What's powering that Purple Monster? Looks like a radial air plane engine. About the only pull I get to see is at the Iowa State Fair. The only aircraft engines that really do much against 4 big Chevy's or a pair of Hemi's that I've seen, are the Allison 1710's. There is one guy who lives just north of Des Moines that has a Rolls Royce Merlin. That one definitely has a sound all it's own...

purple monster thats vintage. is it a radial engine or a ranger aircraft engine?. The tractor with the rolls royce is the river rat and I agree it quite a machine. He came and pulled in ny a few summers ago.

Nice pics Larry. Have you ever pulled with or against Thomas Morrison from New Philadelphia Ohio? He used to pull with the NATPA and I met him once at the Lincoln
Nebraska pull. He had a WD45 down to 2900 lbs with a single front wheel and the tractor looked as good as it pulled. Super nice guy. I pull a '47 WC with pure stock
"Z" code engine. This last summer I had to have (9) 65lb AC weights in front for 4500lb class and I'm only running 14.9x28's on the rear.
