That sure is a 'weird' intersection, bet the locals love seeing 'passerbyers' drive it!
I'm always amazed at the 'car died on the tracks' videos.Really just what are the odds of that really happening?

To be fair, that really is a screwy and scary intersection!
Speaking of idiots, when I was a teenager, we used to make a sport of racing the train to the intersection and crossing in front of him. The tracks ran parallel to the highway, we would chase him down, pass him, and cross in front of him, going around the crossing guards. There is no accounting for the stupidity of youth!

On the crossing close by here, the county grader has left the ice 6" above the tops of the rails and its not hard to get a car with small tires stuck if you don't drive fast (and that is a heck of a bump) fast.

It is amazing as many of us survive as we do. I did some stupid stuff, too. Now my stupid stuff is just cause my brain slips out of gear every now and then. I don't know if a tarp strap is going to hold it in gear like the tractors. We call the stupid stuff "accidents" nowadays.

That's a dangerous looking crossing period. Here in town we have a street with the railroad running straight up the middle. Cars can't use the street when the train is coming. It is about a 1/4 mile long.

Think for yourself and be your own expert. Be willing to change your mind; however, willingness to change your mind doesn’t mean that you will. Blindly following any path is the pinnacle of insanity.

I operate a motor grader for the county. in the summer the RR tells to stay 10 ft away from the tracks on each side so we don't damage the rail. so people complain about the pot holes. In the winter the RR complains we don't take the snow off the crossing. SO JUST WHAT DOES THE RR WANT??< id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">
