I made a set similar this winter when I was makeing a new drawbar and hitch adjustment assembly, but I ran the center tube different for added strength. But you are not going to have an issue the way you have them on. I made them from 1.5"od .083" will thickness chrome moly tubeing to save as much weight as I could.
I wanted to run them at an angle, with lesser bend than a 90* in them but the way I had to attach to the chassis and keep some clearance in places wouldn't let me do it without more modifiations.
Sorry pic is crappy, but you should be able to see what I mean.

I need to build a set for the WD-45 sometime when time allows, I'll do something similar to yours there firephight. I'll just use .083" wall 1 1/2" electric welded tubeing for it, it's less than $1 per foot at the steel yard and I'll never hit them hard enough to bend with an old Allis. BUt for now our "farm stock" or 4mph rules don't require them anywhere.

If I could make them over I would figure out a diffrent way to attach them to the tractor. The rules stat that the tractor should be able to be jacked up in the air off of one of them in the heavest weight class
