Put new boots on this old girl to go one more round... rails, sprockets and pivot pin- could use bottom rollers, too, but budget wouldn't allow. Winter project.

That trev is bloody beautifull mate
![]() But could seriously use a substantially better winch rope than the piece of string its sporting for a tail at the moment

Good lookin tractor Trev. With the Farr air cleaner she looks like the early series EP (Twin Disc converter and tall forward gearing, lower reverse)

What is the designation for the motor in this machine? The inline 6 cylinder has several designations I wonder what is stamped on the motor plate. I have main and rod bearings for this motor see HD6 Bearings post.

11000 series engine. It has an American Bosch pump, and is one of the earliest machines with faster reverse range.
Merv: Yes, I used to own this tractor and then the winch had a 1-1/8" cable on it. Now it has 1/2" cable- but I doubt he'll ever use it anyway. This is one of the only tractors that I know the whole history of- it is now on its 4th owner, and has bought lots of breakfasts. The dozer trunnions and hard bar have lots of wear- you don't have to be an engineer to see that it has done its share.

Track components are a combination of NOS, good used and the sprocket rings are from Henderson, still being manufactured. The rails aren't quite brand new, but measure new pitch, we had to install a used carrier roller- they are hard to find new.
I actually found enough new components to do the whole undercarriage, but cost would be too high. We had to keep in mind what the tractor is worth, as this gentleman is close to retirement. These rails will be all he needs, and we basically got both for the price of one brand new rail. I have some new stuff, and I might do a friend's Series B tractor next winter.

inch and a eight rope Trev ! hell were you planning on pulling the titanic back onto dry ground
![]() ![]() Me and Mac have got swaged 7/8; which is really inch rope squished down to 7/8 diameter; on his HD11 and my D6; and that is more than enough to pull any distance. Big weight difference to just ordinary 7/8. Had some equipment recovery pics i just tried to post but it tells me there too big, so may need to bribe a kid to help ! Just as well that 11 won,t need to pull much; would break that string just walking in top gear !

The original owner had two HD11s and and one HD16, all bought new. They would use the 16 to knock the trees down, then piled with the HD11s. He had the winch installed to pull the 16 out when it got stuck, which was very often. He did quite a lot of work in the winter, mostly in the Swan River valley of Manitoba. I got the tractor from the second owner, who was a farmer, but had worked for the first owner as a young man. Second owner used tractor to clean drainage ditches and clear small tracts. He would hire a D8 to "walk" the trees down, then pile them with his 11.
Very little land clearing goes on here any more, most of the trees are gone- now we just complain about the wind...

I was looking for a set of adapter rings to weld on which would allow me to use the bolt on segments for this project. Had a guy looking for a them, and he just called me to let me know he'd found them. Meanwhile, we had gone ahead with the old style rings. So, if anyone is looking for a set of adapter rings and segments- I know where to find them. It costs around $1600 for the adapter rings, segments, bolts and nuts.
