What is involved in replacing the wide front with a narrow front on an early D17?

It's not hard to do. I did it on D-14, same wide front axle as early D-17. You will need the dust shield that goes at top of pedestal under frame. If you got a jack and air wrench will take less than hour. Maint. book shows some good pictures of the bolster area.
