I have a Gates fan belt   Number 6931  it seems to be to short for my 1940 model B  just wanted to ask to make sure it was the right size  cause  I am having trouble getting to go on my tractor  thanks Tim

does it have a generator for adjustment ?

Look at the waterpump sheave (pulley). It has slots and screws which allows the effective diameter of the pulley to be adjusted. This was the only adjustment on the early tractors without a generator but comes in handy sometimes with the generator equipped tractors as well when you need just that little extra adjustment.

it is a 1940  model B   it is one of the last ones that came with opional starter   has no generator on it yet it going to have  so I know I will need a bigger belt on it  thanks  Tim
