Unsure of what the updated brace from AC looked like but i worked out this piece to stop the hyd pump vibration and load on the timing cover from cracking it again. I bought the machine from city near here and they had replaced one cover and the one they put on cracked again and at time of sale they had another new cover but had not put it on.
I made up brace and used silicone for 5 years to keep the leak from cracks from being a problem then did a replacement of the front casting and re-installed brace, so far no cracks or leaks since and has been 10 years now . It's a simple bar with a U clamp to go onto pump hyd fitting to keep the weight of pump supported and to keep the strain from hoses from transferring to the timing cover.

The pump runs everything but the fwd-rev, hydraulic steering with char lyn orbital hyd steering motor and cylinder on tie rod
AC came out with a update but unsure of what it was , I just looked at the problem and seen those 2 holes back on bell housing and had a extra trailer hitch tongue with a little offset bend , and it works , see the chrome is peeling though .

I thought of running my steering off of the front hydo pump. I can see why the housing cracks on these tractors. The engine has movement and the suction hose is short and heavy. Orangeman I might have a 816 for sale in the near future. The guy down the road has a bigger toy for sale
