I own two Allis tractor radios, both have been fixed up to work, they are twelve volt. Is there a way to kick up the electricity from the 6 volt generator on my WF to make that 12 volt radio work?  i am running a twelve volt battry most of the time knowing i need to charge it often. 
Play on 38 B 49 WF , working on D14, D15 B10, Bee 12 B110. use 185 and 190

Connect a 12 volt regulator to the 6 volt generator if it already uses a regulator instead of a cutout, and then only expect 12 volts when its running fast. Otherwise the 12 volt radio will work on the 12 volt battery so long as you observe proper polarity. The radio won't be nearly the load on the battery as starting so it will run a long time.

Someone still makes/sells 'inverters' that will do the job. Used on 6V beetles, old cars, etc. Try some of the 'classic car' websites.

I used to make them decades ago.....sigh, where does the time go ??

Actually be careful, if you use one of the 6 to 12 volt converters, and try to feed it 12 volts, one of two things will happen, 1. you will burn up the converter, 2. you will output 24 volts, and burn up the radio.  It doesn't matter what genny you have on it, if you are running a 12v battery, your system is a 12v system, at least most of the time, since your genny isn't charging the 12v battery.  If you are intent on leaving the 12v battery in there, at least unhook the genny, I don't think you will cause it harm, but you are probably discharging your battery faster than if it were unhooked.

Sounds like you should just do yourself a favor and have the 6V Gennie converted to 12V, add a 12V VR to the system, and run your system 12V NG. You then have an upgraded system, don't have to be bothered with charging the Battery all the time, worry about blowing things out, and you can run any 12V accessories you like without a problem. Upgrade the Headlight switch and add an Ignition switch to control power, and you have a nice setup! We offer anything you may need to do the swap. If interested, drop us a line.
