Quote; "But, ‘‘You can only do serious work for about two hours with the energy you have on board.’’
That, coupled with a $3000 price for the conversion plus the original tractor price, Why in the world would a sane person do this? |

Yeah, seems a little expensive to me. But it's "green". Someone posted the original on here some time ago about The guy that came up with the kit. This article said the G would work all day if he gave it a boost charge at lunch. The 8n was the one that could only go 2 hours. I dont think the electric jobs would be good to get any major work done. Would be ok for a little veggie garden, but I could buy a lot of gas for what the conversion kit sells for.

It wasn't me! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!

First off, whats WRONG with the smell of an old tractor with a nice, continental N62 engine?
And second, Here's something I will ALWAYS wonder: I don't understand all these green people with their electric cars with battery's. No matter what, the energy HAS to come from SOMEWHERE when you "Plug it in". IE Coal fired power plants and stuff. So essentially, they aren't doing a darn thing for the environment except handing the direct problem off to someone else. THIRD what are they going to do with ALL of those USED, LEAD batteries when they are too old and warn down to use anymore?

ugh!!!! tree huggers!!!!! i like my tractors belching smoke and stinking up the barn when they run... this is what its all about....what do you have if you don't have the hum of the engine or the pops of the johnny popper..... i suppose they will want to have a tv added to the tractor next... maybe even a x box while they do work..... wake up people you don't need all the added gadgets to make your crops grow... the old allis does fine. besides every winter i get colder and colder.... we can use some global warming...longer growing seasons...lol
