I want to put a 262 gas engine in a D17 gas. I need the casting that goes on the back of the engine block. Is the casting from a 262 diesel the same as a gas engine? Same question on the flywheel.
Thanks |

Are you looking for the back mounting plate with the seal in it for the 262 ? The 262 s used a steel plate the D17 gas had a cast adapter plate that you won"t use Niel

You'll also need diesel frame frails, hood channel and hoods and steering shafts.

Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

Yes, the plate has the seal in it. I have been looking at pictures of D19 gas on the internet. I think if I had that casting, it would work. And flywheel.
I know I need the hood and stuff. If I had the clutch and rear housing bolted up, I can handle the rest of it. I may even make the tractor long enough to put a hydraulic pump driven off the front of the crankshaft. |
