I dont understand why they cant just offer the agco its just paint and decals, I thinks it is either valtra or fendt that you can order your tractor in one of 26 different colors and they are owned by the agco corp and it works for that part of the company but not the rest

I can see how it would be cost prohibitive to offer a full line of Agco equipment. On a round baler or mower, it is a lot of iron to paint one more color.
I think the best thing would be to drop the Agco implements line but still offer an Agco orange tractor at the Massey dealer. Then it could have the same color chassis but a different colored hood and roof panel

New Holland puts a little yellow in their tractor and now it matches with their red and yellow hay equipment that they've never messed with, in terms of color. AGCO has messed with a lot of color for Hesston. But you could do the same thing with Balers as you do with tractors, like Hesston is doing. Paint the underbelley on all of them black and the sheet metal orange.
By the way. John Deere will paint their tractor orange new for $1,200 list on new models. There is very little black or neutral colors on a JD. It's mostly green or yellow. So take 20% off list and it costs you roughly $1000 bucks to have a Deere painted orange. Don't you think AGCO could do that, as an option, for closer to $500? |

Seems to me that if there is enough interest, AGCO would be missing out on some extra money if orange were an option at a reasonable price. Unless their manufacturing processes are too inflexible as to make doing so too expensive, in which case they have some foundational issues in their manufacturing capabilities. That or their just unwilling to consider it.
Seems if enough people want orange, they should figure out a way to do it. In the quality management world it's called "Voice of the Customer" and companies that choose to ignore that voice lose potential buyers. |

I think a limited run each year of "heritage" colors would work too. AC orange, Cockshutt Red (or yellow), etc. They wouldn't have to do a Minnie. Just slap a Minnie decal on a Challenger!

THIS IS WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND.... IF YOU PURCHASE A FORD FOCUS FOR $13000.00 YOU PICK THE COLOR YOU WANT. WHY IS IT THE FARM EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURERS CANT GET THAT.... ISN'T IT IN THE CONSTITUTION,WHEN YOU PURCHASE A $250000.00 MACHINE YOU SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO BARE ORANGE!!!!

like i said i don't understand this at all....New Holland only blue Case only red Kubota only orange McCormick only red..and so on... i would like a 250,000.00 tractor to be custom.... it should have chrome wheels and all ,for that much money .....its time for someone to step up and start giving a customer what they want and not just what a company ceo wants...and why do the tractors and all equipment have to cost so much? why cant it be built cheaper and still have durability? i hope most of these manufacturers go out of business they have been greedy about a lot of situations concerning customers...enough is enough....all farmers should ban the buying of agcos all together run them out of the U.S....

It's brand recognition. Anyone who see's a green tractor from a mile away knows it's a John Deere. Now if they see a large tractor a mile away that's orange then they think "I didn't know Kabota made big tractors" or "man that farmer sure likes his Tennessee football". We are unfortunately on a sinking ship at this point.
