What is most common method to fix the drawbar mounting holes in engine block? I have a block that holes are cracked thru case. I know there are many been fixed. What is the best way to do it? Tracy Martin

In my eyes the only option would be to have it welded. You would want a welder the realy knows what he is doing.

I thought about making a threaded carbon rod, and screw it into a pre-heated block. Weld it with nickel rod, slow the cooling down, and clean it up when cool. I figured there would be several opinions on the fix, but I guessed wrong.Tracy Martin

If shipping wasn't an issue, buying my block that needs a $40 sleeve installed could have been a viable option......sigh...

welded a nose castring for a DC CASE TRACTOR HIGH CROP WAS STILL ON THE TRACTORwhen sold with no complaints weld lots of cast parts welded a snapping roll on a corn picker one time was still on the picker a year later after many acres had 4 threaded holes in it[ ac left hand point]

Short of a replacement used block, I think this would be the only way to be able to use the drawbar again

Joe, it was a weak point for sure. Loose bolts are what caused these problems or failure of front attaching pivot. Seems every other one is cracked or repaired. Alot of trouble to fix properly. Tracy Martin
