First off,
I was told Fred DID get the sign for $2100 I beleive. Correct me if I am wrong Fred.
Place turned into a mud pit. At least four trucks stuck (mine included)
A lot of "goodies" to be had. I had my eyes on a Model 35 corn picker, but couldnt afford it. It went for $395.
All-Crop 40 went for $440
444 Baler $1000.
WD45D w/power steering and blown head gasket went for $4100
AllCrop 60 w/ power unit that was not stuck went for $325.
Forage blower $110
Lots of plow went cheap.
I might be a bit off on some of those prices, but I dont feel like going back to my mud infested truck interior and scronging for my list.
The auctioneers didnt know much about ag. Had to tell them I was bidding on AllCrop parts. Oh the humanity!
Another example: they has the no 7 and like sickel mowers out there, but in the brambles upside down and "discovered" was a 80 series side mount mower with WD45 mounting bracket! I heard they auctioned it as the "contents in the weeds"
The had to tell them that it was not a bright idea the sell the 3-pt back blade with
the 3 point conversion kit. Actually I think that went with a wd45 that only had a top link mount on it.
Also I remember seeing row markers for the corn planters in the barn..

I think the prices were on the low on a lot of items.

Stupid me wore inappropiate footwear; I was late getting a move on and didnt think about what I should be wearing. Feet were soaked in no time. Was not as bad as slipping on an embankement twice. Ass over tincups, slammed my back both times. Was not the day to be top heavy. I think I bruised a rib! Half the mud all over me ended up in the truck cab.

terra tiger in beautiful shape with new motor they claimed, $850... average 5015 with 760 hours and belly mower $1050... 610 with 60" mower around $1200. and yes it was good to meet forum members MarkS,fred,glenn,Tom & others. Fred told me he would have the sign lit and on the forum tonight. as for the row markers I ended up with them and they are for sale. as for the tractors my repaired heart had enough for 1 day so I went home early

That was a pretty nice set of row markers you got. I was saving my money to get into it over the rotary hoe, and then you all let me have it for my starter bid of $2.50.
That is the last piece I needed to round out all the options for the standard 60 series cultivators. I sure figured it would be a lot harder to get than that.
If it hadn't been so cold and muddy, I'd have bought up all those plows with the cast moldboards, but I didn't feel like battling that field. On the downside, I found out I got some FWD work to do on the buggy, she was making a bunch of noise when I pulled out of the parking area....

Tom, You forgot to say how much the guy paid for the chainsaw.
Glenn, I'm glad I didnt try the feild. I took the plows I bought apart and carried them to the truck peice by peice. Extra work but... I didnt get stuck.

What set did you buy?
I just kept my hands in my pockets, but I sure was tempted on that first two way set of the early breakaway plows. I was tempted on that 2way spinner plow too, just for the moldboards. I just couldn't picture myself fighting that mud.

Single plow on back row. They sold the set seperatly, dont know why. Didnt matter I already had other plow to go with it. Figures... I bought farthest one from truck. I usually bring a BIG rubber tired express wagon to shows and auctions to help me drag my treasures back to truck. This time I left it home and it would have come in handy. Though I am glad I didnt second guess myself and bring the trailer the way the weather turned out.

The 40 was not in too bad of condition. I ran it up out of the junkman's price range because I didn't want to see it get scrapped. He was buying too much. For a minute or two, I was worried that I'd actually have to find a place for it, but then somebody in the back picked up and got it going again. If the sale had been in April instead of December, I'd have probably taken it home for whatever, as it was nicer paint than the bin model I have. But I did not want to have to get it out of there on a day like today.

Auctioneer sorta mentioned that they mite have the Rovendale Barn and supply help load. Not sure if they did. Most I saw were loading them selves or getting stuck trying. In all fairness however, I didnt want to wait to find out as I had a long waY to go and the weather wasnt cooperating. I had planned on bidding on the ultra rare "c with rear engine" but was loading my stuff when it was sold so I didnt get a chance to bid or see what it brought. I do beleive it would have paid them to hire a consultant " someone like Fred" who could tell them what parts went with which tractors and equipment. For example they sold the seat for the "G" in one of the "junk" piles. Also they left a bunch of neat stuff in the bushes. etc. I asked the auctioneer if he would sell a log chain I found in the weeds and he said It would be sold for scrap?? Oh well. Ive no right to judge its nun of my buisness.

Sad to say, they would have done a lot better if they had brought in an auction co that knew what the stuff was.
They must have gone to the low bidder, or else the first guy in the phone book.
If your family has to do your auction after you are gone, at least do them a favor and point them in the right direction before you go.

The chainsaw went for 125.00 i think. It sure was nice seeing all the forum members there. Tom thanks again for the hat........Eric and Glenn good to see you both. I got a nice B/c gas tank 2 molbords and a 2 bottom plow. I'm grad I didn't bring the trailer it was one Nasty drive home. It took 21/2 hours to get there and 4hrs. to get home......Mark J........P.S. Fred you did good on the sign..................

Tom I'm the one who pulled you out. I also bought the 45 d.
The 17 Donny Rovenolt bought and was helping to load with that tractor.
Donny is going to haul the 45d home for me next week.

I went to the site on Thursday. It looked like a lot of rough eqpt and parts to me. I think they were fortunate to obtain any auctioneer. They were working on Thursday on removing stuff from the shed, and from the brush. I don't see how the auctioneer made any money on this sale. Glenn, if I were younger, i would have liked the 40 combine. Seems to me that items sold a good prices for the condition of the equipment.

I am the one who bought the chain saw for $170.00 I now have Allis Chain saws.
I am also the one who bought the lot in the brush, I only to the brackets and
the shovels off the cultivators and left the rest. As they told me that I had to
provide my means of loading, I understand that they later changed that, however
that was to late for me.
