For the record on HD 19's
A neighbour has one that has been prodified, originally as a farming tractor.
Now 8-71, Spicer heavy duty off road 6 speed box, air cab (very professionally done) and the correct Allis paint which he is using to pull a blade plow.

Mactractor,
If that's on my post on the prodified one -
It still uses the original Allis rear box. If I remember correctly that is where reverse happens, the Spicer box doesn't have one. Neighbour had to do a bit of work on the shaft between and found that there had been a bearing change in the front of the original rear box to allow some movement - no splines in the shaft.
As my neighbour says whoever did it knew exactly what they were doing, including finding that the Spicer box would just fit between the rails.

The truck joey boxes had no reverse as there was always one or more in the main box. I believe some joey boxes bolted directly to the main - no drive shaft between

Mactractor
So our telescopes are pointing the same direction I've just cross checked with the owner.
This HD 19 originally had a 6/71, a diesel converter, a drive shaft and an Allis 2-speed + reverse box.
It now has an 8/71, a Spicer box (6 + R) a drive shaft and the original Allis 2 + R box.
So he has plenty of ratios to play with. He hasn't tried Spicer reverse plus Allis reverse to see if it goes forward.

Very clever bit of downunder engineering to get favorable ratios for drawbar work Ian.

For the spares side - my neighbour reckons that a lot of things are HD 21 though you might have to change both sides to match the spline.
