Where is the block most likely to have freeze cracks. I want to check them well before rebuild. Are the freeze plugs readily avaiable? How much can block be decked before a problem arises? Thanks Tracy Martin

Besides those details there are two major variations in the starter placement. One fits the G, the other fits the Massey Pony. And from the N62 Continental manual, there may be another variation without starter but I am not sure of that.

Back in the early 60's I had an IHC combine that had a Continental flat head engine. It had a mag on it so I know that it was not the same engine that's used on the G. But I wonder how close it was to the N-62? It was a hand crank start. I sold the combine in '65.

Continental made many flat head engines. Likely nearly a 100 different models. The Y-91 was popular for fork lifts, generators, and Avco milk trucks. The N-62 was used in the allis G and Massey Pony and likely other applications. Many of the Continental engines looked alike, just at different scales.
