Rattle can paint

Has anyone used  TSC Valspar Restoration paint , has #3345 AC Orange
on can cost $7.99 per can. AC Orange # 5339-03 cost $4.99 .
Question is which is correct for Allis G & is Restoration a better Paint?

I don't think either Valspar rattle can orange from TSC is correct for a G if you want to match PO#1. Some folks like the Rattle Can shade of Orange that comes from Krylon. Having used it on the Build a B parts and being a painter, with a eye for color, all my life. It is not a real real close match for PO#1. If you want to use a inexpensive Alkyd Industrial Enamel Lowes can scan, mix  and match a dry PO#1 sample. Enamel Hardener can be found at TSC And Attwoods.

Somebody posted this chart on here awhile back. I think the 2 middle colors look closest to PO#1, the color you would want.

If you wanna stick with TSC paint, Get the Kabota Orange, Thats what I have been useing on My CA. It's pretty close to PO#1 for cheapo paint

It was me who posted the rattle can color comparison awhile back.  I've picked up a few others since then and will post an update eventually.  To my eye, none of them are a great match to PO2 or especially PO1, based on comparing them directly to meticulously restored tractors i've seen at shows.  While PO1 tends to be somewhat "brown" compared to the "redder" shade of PO2, the Van Sickle PO1 is looks "too brown" to me.  Some day I'd like to get a chip of the well-accepted PPG versions of PO1 and PO2 to put in the chart.

I didn't think the PO#2 Van Sickle was too bad a match.  I agree the PO#1 appears a little dark/brown, but wasn't too bad for a small job.  I've not been happy with the quality of tractor/implement paint from TSC in the past.

i bought the VALSPAR restoration paint with harderner. Goes on real nice, and dries fast.  I bought the "allis chamlers" orange and it looks like corporate to me. I used it to paint a small Economy tractor and a trailer, not a  B Allis.

I have used it and it fades.  My older D 10 could be the cover jacket for  Dolly Pattin's "Coat of Many Colors" song;;  because of TSC  paint. But it is better than rust, until I retire and paint it right.

Do you have an air compressor?  IF so, your best bet is to buy a paint gun and shoot the paint on, rather than using rattle cans.   Harbor Freight has a $9  paint gun that is decent, but does need set-up by a professional.   If you are interested, I could set it up for you if you wanted to ship it to me.   I am a professional autobody painter and I own many high end guns, but  I do own about 10 of the harbor freight $9 guns that I use for primer and industrial and even the occasional car if I want to show off.  (why so many?)  I bought 3 guns to start so I could mix PPG NCP-271 primer in 3 separate batches, for shooting several vehicles at teh same time, and having a fresh gun loaded with primer for each coat.  NCP primer turns to jello in a paint gun in about 30-45 minutes, so you have to move fast, but have to give it 10-15 minutes between coats. so the consistency varies between the first coat and last coat, unless you mix new batches for every coat.   but anyway...

Paint guns are very simple to use, and very simple to maintain, and clean.  Cleaning a paint gun is probably everyone's biggest downfall, but if you buy some laquer thinner with the sole intention of using it to clean up your gun, you will be fine.  Just get a gallon of laquer thinner, and use it liberally to clean. Don't be afraid to waste it.
