hello everyone. as you can see im new here and im not very familure with anything allis chalmers. im hoping some of you could give help me out a little. im looking to buy a combine in the future and ive been real interested in the old gleaners like the E's and F's. now i know im probably gonna take a beating for this being on an orange forum but im a mechanic for john deere, so working on it wouldnt be a problem for me but what is the parts availability like for these old combines? i dont want to buy something then not be able to get parts for it. also what is a good price for a decent E or F? everything ive seen seems to be around 1500-3000 dollars. thanks

You can get most anything you want for a gleaner combine (for a fee). But basically you probably have most of what you will ever need at your dealership, A hand full of 1 inch bearings and lock collars. That was the beauty of those machines was their simplicity.

yes thats the nice thing about the old equipment is how simple they are, none of the electronics like todays equipment has. thanks for the welcome and any advice is greatly appreciated

Hi Adam, Looks like we are in the same part of the state, I live south of Bates City. The old Gleaners are a little bit diff that the old John Deere combines. I have "A" and have no trouble getting parts for it. Here's a link to a "K" on Iland. go down about half the page. There are lots of "E" and "F" combines out there.

thanks for the link don, ill check it out. i actually grew up in odessa. im sure you've seen it but there is an old gleaner on the south side of i70 between odessa and bates city, id love to have one like that but its been sittin out there for so many years id hate to see what kind of condition its in

Yes I have looked at it from the road but I didn't stop to look at it good. It looks like a "F2" I know of a "F" sitting in a barn ( sit there for ten years) it's got a 12' bean head, no corn head. The old farmer will sale it for a song. I'd get it but I can't sing! lol
