The high low does not seem to be working right. Low only. Does anyone have an idea how to tell if thre is a major problem or just an adjustment needed?

No adjustment, the only thing you can do is check the pressure at the valve, its located under the steering valve, there are two 1/8th pipe plugs, one for low, the other for high, cannt remember which is which. Pressure should be around 240psi when in either range. If pressure is ok, probably bad sealing rings or clutch plates. If pressure isnt good you can shim valve some, usually not the pressure. Good luck

We had the same thing when we bought are 180. The oil was milky in the high low range from water getting into it. Low range would work but high would not and found the valve that is behind the panel below the steering wheel was rusted and wound not move. Cleaned it up and the high range worked.

Yes, That is what the rearend oil looks like. Did you drain and replace I would guess? I will check the valve associated with the high range lever is what I think you are talking about? You do not happen to have a diagram for the tractor do you?
