Has anybody ever seen this album cover? http://www.lorettalynnfan.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=28400676 I stumbled across this while surfing the web. I know Loretta Lynn's ranch used to be a testing site for AC. We used to go there when I was a kid and I still remember seeing a couple of 8550 tractors out in the field discing (we'd never seen tractors that big around here). I've been to several AC field days there as a kid also. | |

I always look in the boxes at garage sales, but haven't found one for myself yet...

I've searched the web all night and I can't seem to find any more info on the Loretta Lynn Ranch and Allis Chalmers. All I know is they were a test farm for AC and when the tractors weren't working they had them on display up close to the house. The last time I was there for a field day was around '86 and the tractors were all green by then and they were trying to get people to swap from orange to (puke) green.

Larry Gruenberger who used to run the test farm told during one of his presentations that they used to do a lot of testing on the Loretta Lynn ranch and had many meetings and banquets there also.  I have seen a couple of Larry's presentations, and I will say he is one interesting guy to listen to.  He has been to my college a few times, and was just there this past friday to give a presentation.  He also has some unbelievable pictures.
