Mom says this was actually me on the D14. If it was the tractor must have been nearly new at the time.

Cockshutt 40, wishbone front axle, bare back... no frills power.Notice the well used seat cover, probably an old gray canvas one as I recall... Not a prissy vinyl one like they sell now in the colors that you chose.

I have one of the canvas seat covers for my D-14. I didn't think anything about it and actually have one of the "prissy" vinyl ones on it right now. Did they come with a canvas cover from the dealerships? If they are rare or something unique I will take the new one off and put it back on there. It is in great shape and has no rips or wear on it. If it isn't raining I will try to post some pictures of it on there tomorrow.

i have not seen a canvas duck seat cover advertised. Seems like people just bought em and used them til the sun or mice tore em up. They did not really shed rain well so that was issue if you did not have a flip seat like WD or D14.
When vinyl seat material took over most tractors had gone away from the bucket steel seats with a separate cover. Yes, dealerships sold seat covers. But usually they were hanging on the wall at every feed store and hardware store around so availability was not an issue. Probably also why they were usually generic olive drab or gray.

Lots of stuff was made of canvas and it did not hold up well when stored in a barn, if you have anything like that in decent condition it is nice to try and preserve it.
Like canvas heat housers and tractor umbrellas, the mice tear them up and they rot easy. Nice to see the real old stuff on display at shows even if it is not in the best condition. I would rather see that than dress up parts like chrome stacks and vinyl custom exhaust covers any day, just my opinion.
